Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Construction Management Intern in Los Angeles, CA. The role offers hands-on experience with senior/junior designers, assisting in preparing construction documents for commercial, aviation, federal, and other projects.

Preference for a minimum 3-month, full-time commitment. The position involves field oversight, on-site observations, and coordination with contractors, with the chance to contribute to project meetings and documentation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor's or master's program in construction, project management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in construction.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily, on-site oversight of construction activities and document project progress.
• Conduct on-site observations of contractor work and identify potential quality issues, deficiencies, or deviations from project plans and specifications.
• Observe and document the quality and quantity of work performed by the contractor and the contractor's QC/QA inspection staff.
• Monitor contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, quality requirements, and applicable safety procedures.
• Review plans and specifications to understand project requirements and identify potential construction issues.
• Assist in determining the need for changes or additional work based on field conditions and observed construction activities.
• Coordinate with contractors to understand and track the schedule of work and upcoming construction activities.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection records, project documentation, plans, and other construction records.
• Attend weekly project meetings and assist with documenting project updates, action items, and outstanding issues.
• Support the STV project team with field documentation, project coordination, and other construction management activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Construction Management Intern to join our team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.

In this role, you will work with senior and junior designers to assist in completing project construction documents for various projects. The group provides design services to both public agencies and other larger design projects; major projects typically include commercial, aviation, federal, and more.

Compensation Range:

$52,526.00 - $59,689.00
