Job summary

McCarthy Improvement (MCI) is seeking a Construction Management Intern for Summer 2027 at our Effingham, Illinois location. This full-time internship (32-40 hours/week) offers exposure to estimating, project coordination, and field activities under the supervision of a Project Manager.

Ideal candidates are pursuing construction management, design, engineering or related trades and possess strong communication, Excel skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while supporting project teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with estimating project costs and preparing related documentation.
• Help coordinate subcontractors, materials, and project schedules.
• Support quality control and project documentation efforts.
• Observe and assist with field testing and inspections.
• Collect and report project data to support the project team.
