Job summary

CMS Corporation is seeking interns in Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical and Civil Engineering to gain hands-on experience in project setup, documentation, and coordination for a range of commercial and federal projects.

The role involves supporting submittal tracking, budgeting, and closeout activities, while collaborating with PMs, QC, and proposal teams. This internship offers exposure to design-build processes within a leading construction contractor.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a relevant bachelor’s degree program.
• Interest in construction management, architecture, mechanical or civil engineering.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Create project startup check list, schedule kick off meeting, and follow up on deliverables.
• Set up file structure on company system for project use.
• Set up and maintain project tracking system.
• Assist in creating, editing, and tracking of all project related documentation.
• Review specifications to maintain submittal register and ensure required submittals are appropriate.
• Coordinate pre-construction submittals such as QC plan, Accident Prevention Plan, Demolition Plan, Environmental Plan.
• Generate and track all project submittal documents and send to QCM for approval.
• Assist project team with drafting subcontracts for PM review.
• Follow up with vendors and subcontractors on deliverables per contract specifications.
• Enter budgets into accounting program and make approved changes.
• Create and track RFIs and process client change orders.
• Assist in project closeout documents and ensure contract compliance.
• Prepare information for project summary with Proposal team.
