Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking construction interns for our Southern California offices for spring/summer 2027. This hands-on internship offers exposure to budgeting, cost control, submittals, and coordination with architects and owners.

You will work closely with seasoned professionals to learn safety, quality control, and project documentation in a real-world setting. The 12-week program runs 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Construction Management, Engineering, or related program.
• Prior internships or work experience helpful but not required.
• Able to learn quickly and handle a 12-week program.
• Willing to commit to 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, Procore, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Learn to manage project budgets, track expenditures, and support owner/subcontractor billing.
• Gain understanding of Safety and Quality Control programs and coordinate actions.
• Learn company procedures, correspondence processes and document handling.
• Review submittal data and shop drawings.
• Coordinate submittals, deliveries, and schedule with the Superintendent.
