Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Finance Analyst Intern for the South Central District to gain hands-on experience in construction finance. The internship runs across project sites in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana, with roles in field engineering support, cost control, and planning.

You will collaborate with the operations finance team on critical infrastructure programs. The program targets students pursuing civil/ construction fields, offering real-world exposure, mentorship, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Able to work full-time during May–August and willing to travel or relocate.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do

• Project Oversight: Assist with field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, and contract administration.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Perform engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and resolve minor technical issues that arise during construction.
• Record Management: Maintain accurate records regarding job progress, costs, and material usage.
• Planning & Scheduling: Contribute to the planning and scheduling of specific job segments or entire projects.
• Issue Resolution: Investigate problems or incidents, identifying and recommending appropriate solutions or alternatives.
• Material Management: Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities, qualities, and pricing) and work with suppliers to facilitate and expedite material delivery.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Experience: Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August) and willingness to travel or relocate as needed for project assignments.
• Skills: Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in various climates and environments, strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated commitment to ethics, integrity, and safety.
