D&D Roofing and Sheet Metal is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Management Intern to join our team. This internship is designed to provide hands‑on experience in construction operations, project coordination, estimating, and job costing within a fast‑paced roofing environment.
This role offers real‑world exposure to managing roofing projects from start to finish, working directly with experienced professionals in the field and office.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the full lifecycle of a roofing/construction project (bid to completion)
- Gain exposure to project scheduling, coordination, and execution
- Learn basic estimating functions, job costing, budgeting, and financial tracking
- Develop professional communication skills with field teams, vendors, and clients
- Understand workplace safety standards and construction compliance practices
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and tracking
- Participate in job site visits and field observations
- Support scheduling, material ordering, and logistics coordination
- Assist with estimating, budgeting, job costing, and documentationHelp maintain project files, reports, and internal systems
- Communicate with team members to ensure timelines and expectations are met
Expected Outcomes
- Contribute to active roofing projects in a support role
- Gain hands‑on exposure to both field and office operations
- Develop a working understanding of construction project workflows
- Complete a final summary of internship experience and key learnings
- Intern will report directly to a Project Manager, Senior Estimator or Operations Leader
- Weekly 1:1 check‑ins for guidance and feedback
- Ongoing mentorship with increasing responsibility throughout the internship
- Duration: 8-12 weeks (aligned with academic semester)
- Schedule: 24-40 hours per week (flexible based on school schedule)
- Location: Sparks, NV (combination of office and field exposure)
- Academic Credit: Eligible; D&D Roofing will complete required documentation
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Construction Management, Business, or related program
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Interest in construction, project management, or operations
