Internship Overview

We believe the best way to start your career is by doing work you actually care about. In our internship program, you take the driver’s seat. We tailor your day-to-day projects around your specific career interests and goals, not just a checklist of corporate chores.

As a leading electrical contractor, we’ll give you an insider’s look into the industry through real-world experience on active projects. You’ll get to see how different teams collaborate to bring complex projects to life, build practical and professional skills, and learn directly from industry pros in the field and office.

What You'll Do
Role Overview

As a Construction Management intern, you’ll be a true extension of our project teams, getting hands-on exposure across the entire lifecycle of a project, from early preconstruction and estimating all the way to active job sites.

Because our program is tailored to your goals, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the areas of construction that excite you most. Whether you want to dive deep into bid strategies, learn how to manage subcontractors, or participate in safety and site inspections, you’ll work alongside experienced project managers and estimators on projects that make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Preconstruction
  • Assist with real project planning, helping define project scopes, milestone goals, and deliverable timelines.
  • Support preconstruction and estimating teams by organizing data for bid strategies, cost forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Research and evaluate pricing for materials, specialized equipment, and subcontractor services to keep bids competitive and accurate.
Field Experience & Site Operations
  • Participate in active site visits, job walks, and pre-bid meetings to gather critical project details directly from the field.
  • Conduct site inspections alongside safety leads to ensure active jobs maintain high safety standards.
Tech & Process Management
  • Gain exposure to project management software, getting practical experience with Procore, MS Project, Accubid, and Change Order Pro.
  • Collaborate across preconstruction and field teams to streamline data workflows and simplify reporting.

Additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bring genuine enthusiasm, ask great questions, and be excited to take ownership of real projects.
  • Comfortable taking initiative, collaborating across different personality types, and helping keep projects moving forward.
  • Build trust and represent the team well with both internal staff and external partners.
Demonstrated Accomplishment
  • Ability to talk comfortably with everyone, from project managers in the office to field crews on job sites, and write clear, friendly project updates.
  • Strong attention to detail, spotting potential issues early, and bringing practical, real-world solutions to the table.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with everyday tools like Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, with a proven ability to pick up new construction management software quickly.
Education & Experience
  • Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Construction Management or Project Management
  • Ability to obtain an OSHA 10 certification within first month.
What You’ll Get
Working Conditions:

Part of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range: $21.00 - $25.00/hour

*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
