Job summary

Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. in Fort Myers, FL seeks a Construction Management Intern to gain hands-on experience across active construction sites, project management functions, and preconstruction activities.

You will work with experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers to support successful site execution. The role emphasizes field coordination, safety compliance, cost tracking, scheduling, and collaboration across teams to deliver commercial projects while building industry

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or enrolled in a Co-op program.
• Strong interest in construction management and a desire to learn about the commercial construction industry.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support Superintendents with daily jobsite coordination, field activities, and project inspections.
• Participate in safety meetings, jobsite walks, and quality control processes.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Track and document subcontractor progress, performance, and project milestones.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project management activities.
• Maintain organized project files and support compliance documentation requirements.
• Participate in project progress meetings and provide project status updates.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bid reviews, and budget tracking as assigned.
• Collaborate with project teams to support successful project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
• Gain hands-on experience across all phases of commercial construction projects while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

About this opportunity

The Construction Management Intern with Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. will gain hands‑on experience across active construction sites, project management functions, and preconstruction activities. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers, the intern will support the successful execution of commercial construction projects while developing a strong foundation in industry practices and operations.
