Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in safe and successful execution of capital and site projects with construction teams.
  • Review project scope, schedules, execution plans, and constructability considerations.
  • Participate in daily field activities, including contractor coordination and safety meetings.
  • Monitor progress, verify equipment and materials, and communicate project status.
  • Assist with facility improvements, debottlenecking, and turnaround preparation.
  • Gain hands-on experience with project startup, checkout, and commissioning activities.

Koch Fertilizer in Enid, Oklahoma has a Construction Management Intern Summer 2027 opportunity available. The internship opportunity will be a 12-week program running from late May to mid-August 2027.

What You Will Do
  • Work alongside Construction Managers, project managers, contractors, and operations teams to support the safe and successful execution of capital and site projects.
  • Support construction planning activities by reviewing project scope, schedules, execution plans, and constructability considerations.
  • Participate in daily field activities, including contractor coordination, safety meetings, work planning, and removal of execution roadblocks.
  • Monitor construction progress, verify installed equipment and materials, and help communicate project status, issues, and upcoming activities.
  • Assist with project execution activities related to facility improvements, debottlenecking initiatives, and future turnaround preparation.
  • Gain hands‑on experience with project startup, checkout, and commissioning activities while developing practical construction management skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
  • Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.
  • Confined space entry may be required.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Currently enrolled in a degree or alternative program in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Eligible for full‑time employment before or by May 2028.
  • Willing and able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Able to spend significant time in the field and travel to jobsites as needed.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience in construction, refining, petroleum, chemical, or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with construction safety practices, LOTO, or environmental stewardship.
  • Exposure to project cost, scheduling, or early‑phase (FEL / ECI) constructability concepts.
