Job summary

Jobot’s Los Angeles office seeks a Construction Litigation Associate Attorney to join our established practice. You will handle construction and commercial disputes, draft pleadings and discovery, and manage matters from inception to resolution.

Qualifications

  • JD and active California State Bar membership.
  • 2–10 years civil or related litigation experience.
  • Construction litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery; manage document production.
  • Conduct depositions, attend hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Analyze contracts, project records, payment disputes, delays, and change orders.

We are seeking a Construction Litigation Associate Attorney to join our Los Angeles office and support a growing caseload of construction and commercial disputes.

Job Description
  • Manage construction and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, legal memoranda, and settlement agreements
  • Propound and respond to written discovery and manage document production
  • Conduct and defend depositions and attend court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Analyze construction contracts, project records, payment disputes, delay claims, and change orders
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, consultants, and court personnel
  • Assist with case strategy, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations
  • Manage court deadlines, filing requirements, and multiple active matters
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor and active membership with the California State Bar
  • 2-10 years of civil litigation or other relevant legal experience
  • Construction litigation experience preferred
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage assignments and multiple deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong professional judgment and client communication skills
