Job summary

TalentCloud Group in Los Angeles seeks a Construction Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation practice. You will handle sophisticated construction disputes from inception through trial, working directly with clients and shaping case strategy.

The ideal candidate has at least four years of litigation experience and active California Bar status, with a background in construction or complex civil litigation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
  • Ability to independently manage litigation matters and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction litigation matters through all phases from filing to trial.
  • Draft and argue pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and dispositive motions.
  • Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.
  • Prepare for court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Analyze contracts, change orders, project records, and related documentation.
  • Develop and execute tailored litigation strategies to meet client objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, insurers, opposing counsel, and witnesses.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation and evidentiary analysis.
  • Independently manage assigned matters with partners and litigation teams.

An established and highly regarded law firm is seeking a talented Construction Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated construction-related disputes from inception through trial, working directly with clients and playing a key role in case strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent advocacy skills, and a background in construction or complex civil litigation. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage construction litigation matters through all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through resolution and trial.
  • Draft and argue pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and dispositive motions.
  • Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.
  • Prepare for and participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Analyze construction contracts, specifications, change orders, project records, and related documentation.
  • Evaluate claims, defenses, contractual obligations, and litigation risks.
  • Develop and execute effective litigation strategies tailored to client objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, insurance representatives, opposing counsel, and witnesses.
  • Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation and evidentiary analysis.
  • Independently manage assigned matters while working closely with partners and litigation teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
  • Ability to independently manage litigation matters and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling construction litigation matters.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, project documentation, change orders, delay claims, defect claims, and other construction-related disputes.
  • Experience representing contractors, subcontractors, developers, property owners, insurers, or other stakeholders in construction projects.
  • Background in complex civil litigation, including mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $165,000 - $225,000 annually
