Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a Construction Laborer to support heavy civil construction projects in Florida. The role emphasizes safety, reliability and teamwork in outdoor environments, performing site prep, material handling and equipment operation.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, preparing sites, excavating and grading, handling materials, and maintaining tools and equipment. A 2–5 year construction background and ability to work in varying weather are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy/civil construction environments.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Safety policies and procedures and report accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Must understand and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Excavate by hand ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
• Position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections or pipes.
• Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
• Complete equipment reports on rack truck, compressors.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of the procedures to use the tools and equipment safely and properly.
• Organize and maintain tool trailers in a neat and orderly fashion.
