Job summary

Skillforce is hiring construction laborers and painters in the Arlington, VA area. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of painting experience in commercial settings, preferably on highway crews.

This full‑time role offers 40–60 hours per week with pay starting at $18–21 per hour DOE. Responsibilities include surface preparation for blasting and painting, applying industrial coatings with sprayers, brushes and rollers, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience painting in industrial and/or commercial setting.
• Able to travel locally as needed.
• Your own reliable transportation.
• PPE.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare surfaces for blasting and painting.
• Remove contaminants and mask areas not being treated.
• Apply industrial coatings using sprayers, brushes, and rollers.
• Maintain equipment to ensure performance and quality.
• Ensure coating thickness, finish, and coverage.
• Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and use required PPE.
