Job summary

Messer Construction Co. in Lexington, KY is seeking a reliable construction laborer to support our field teams on commercial projects. You will perform general cleanup, material handling, and site access tasks, helping crews stay safe and productive throughout the day.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years in commercial construction, and reliable transportation. You must be willing to work within a 50-mile radius and in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in commercial construction.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation.
• Be willing to work within a 50 mile radius.
• Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• General and final cleanup.
• Distribution / cleanup of power hand-tools / extension cords / generators.
• Dewatering activities / set-up water pumps and hoses.
• Manual moving of formwork, lumber, resteel and material / accessories.
• Hand excavation and backfill.
• Place vapor barrier / board insulation.
• Strip/ wreck, clean and oiling of formwork.
• General / selective demolition of masonry, drywall, plaster, partitions of all types, ceilings of all types, finishes of all types.
• Use of demolition tools: jack hammer, air tools, sledge hammer.
• Other tasks as directed by supervisor.
