Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a construction laborer to support all phases of site work in Sumter, South Carolina. You will help prepare and clean up sites, load materials, set up bracing and temporary structures, dig trenches and operate basic equipment under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor.
• Must be able to utilize basic math and read a tape measure.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
• Work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
• 40 or more hours per week with possible weekend work.
• Background check and drug screen based on job location/requirements.

• Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as brooms and shovels, pavement breakers, jackhammers, earth tampers, and surveying equipment.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Description

Perform a variety of basic tasks and activities during all phases of construction and do so in a safe and timely manner with the best quality possible. However, the main task is preparing and cleaning up construction sites.
