Job summary

Janotta & Herner is seeking a Construction Laborer to support site operations by preparing, cleaning up and handling materials on outdoor construction projects. The role involves assisting trades, operating basic tools, and keeping the worksite organized and safe.

The position is outdoors with varying weather conditions and a typical schedule from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with occasional overtime. Prior construction experience is preferred and physical stamina is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous construction experience preferred.
• Must be physically able to perform manual labor.
• Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform demanding tasks.
• Familiar with use of powered and powder actuated tools.
• Experience operating vehicles and equipment.
• Comfort working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing obstacles and setting up barriers.
• Provide support to carpenters, concrete workers, iron workers and operators.
• Operate hand and power tools as needed.
• Load and unload materials and equipment.
• Keep the site organized and safe for the crew.
• Remove debris and waste from sites.
• Assist in setting up and operating construction machinery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As a Construction Laborer at Janotta & Herner, you will play a crucial role in supporting construction projects by performing various tasks to ensure smooth operations at the worksite. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation, operation, and cleanup of construction sites, as well as carrying out manual labor tasks.

Essential Functions

1. Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing obstacles,setting up barriers, and other tasks as assigned by the project manager.
2. Provide support to various trades, such as carpenters, concrete workers, iron workers and equipment operators.
3. Operate hand and power tools.
4. Load and unload construction materials and equipment.
5. Organize and maintain the construction site to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
6. Remove debris, and waste materials from construction sites.
7. Assist in the setup and operation of construction machinery and equipment.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Working Conditions

A significant portion of your work will take place outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and sunlight. General start and stop times vary depending on the project, but normally range from 7:00am-3:30pm. Occasional overtime work is to be expected.
