Job summary

Dick Anderson Construction, Inc. is seeking a Construction Laborer to support residential, commercial, industrial, and civil job sites in Billings and surrounding areas. You will organize materials, assist carpenters, perform clean-up duties, and operate power and hand tools under foreman supervision.

Must provide basic hand tools and have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation. Strong work ethic, ability to follow instructions in English, and willingness to perform physical labor,

Qualifications

• Previous construction experience preferred.
• Must provide own basic hand tools.
• Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to job sites.
• Ability to read and interpret verbal/written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Obtain daily work instructions and determine tasks.
• Fetch materials for carpenters and job sites.
• Assist with concrete work setup and disassembly.
• Cut framing and other materials with saws.
• Keep materials organized on the project site.
• Assist with framing duties and with safe setup of scaffolding and ladders.
• Prepare and sand materials for staining/painting.
• Maintain and clean power and hand tools and equipment.
• Load/unload materials from trucks and trailers.
• Perform housekeeping and trash removal on site.

The Construction Laborer performs general laborer duties at various residential, commercial, industrial, and/or civil job site locations, including organizing materials, clean-up duties, and assisting the carpenters. This position works under the direct supervision of the Foreman.

Qualification Requirements:

• Previous construction experience preferred, with a basic understanding of the construction process.
• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable means of transportation to job site locations.
• Must provide own basic hand tools.
  • Employer provides specialty tools and equipment.
• Must be able to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions in English.

Essential Job Functions:

• Obtains daily work instructions and determines work to be done.
• Retrieves supplies and materials for the Carpenters.
• Assists with performing concrete work set up and disassembly.
• Cuts framing materials and other materials using saws.
• Keeps all materials on the project organized.
• Assists in framing duties.
• Safely sets up staging, scaffolding, and ladders.
• Assists with prepping and sanding materials for staining/painting.
• Maintains and cleans all power tools, hand tools, and other equipment.
• Keeps job site trailers and supplies organized.
• Loads and unloads materials and supplies from trucks/trailers at job sites.
• Packs materials to specific areas at the construction site as needed.
• Performs housekeeping and keeps work area clean throughout the project and removes trash and debris.Will shovel, sweep, and pick up materials by hand.

Non-Essential Job Functions:

• Operates forklift to move materials only if forklift trained/certified.
• May drive a company vehicle to run errands or pick up supplies as needed.
• Performs other duties as needed.
