Job summary

Grace Pacific Corporation is seeking a dependable crew member with CDL Class B and mechanical aptitude to support guardrail and signage projects across Hawaii. You will read construction plans, install guardrails and fencing, load/unload tools, and assist with yard and equipment maintenance. Flexibility in hours and travel to neighbor islands may be required.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and customer service in daily interactions with co-workers and clients.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • CDL Class B with air brake endorsement; or must have permit within 6 months of hire date and obtain license within 9 months of hire.
  • Favorable driver history record.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools.
  • One year of construction industry experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Basic math skills to calculate measurements pertinent to jobs.
  • Ability to read and understand job specifications and written instructions.
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and possible occasional work on the neighbor islands.

Responsibilities

  • Installs guardrail, posts and signs using hand tools and equipment.
  • Reads plans and applies highway striping in accordance with project specifications.
  • Loads and unloads tools, equipment and materials from vehicles and storage areas.
  • Removes and installs chain link fencing.
  • Checks assigned truck daily and completes required checklists.
  • Assists in maintaining jobsite, yard and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies; ensures crew members apply safety standards.
  • Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation at work.
  • Promotes teamwork between all crews by a positive attitude.

  2. Installs guardrail, posts and signs using hand tools and equipment.
  3. Reads plans and applies highway striping in accordance with project specifications.
  4. Loads and unloads tools, equipment and materials from vehicles and storage areas.
  5. Removes and installs chain link fencing.
  6. Checks assigned truck daily and completes required checklists.
  7. Assists in maintaining jobsite, yard and equipment.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
  9. Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies. Ensures crew members apply the standards for safe working conditions and a refit for work each day.
  10. Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
  11. Promotes, supports and facilitates teamwork between all crews by exhibiting a positive attitude.

  2. CDL, Class B Standard Shift (with air brake endorsement); or must have permit within 6 months of hire date and obtain license within 9 months of hire.

We primarily employ carpenters, laborers, s and operating engineers. We are signatory to collective bargaining agreements with the following unions listed below and are subject to the hiring rules of each collective bargaining agreement. We anticipate hiring for projects on Oahu, Maui, Hawaii, and Kauai as work becomes available and will be contacting the respective union to fill these positions.
