Job summary

F.H. Paschen invites students pursuing Construction, Engineering, or related built-environment fields to join its summer Construction Intern program in Raleigh. The role offers exposure to pre-construction through project closeout, with duties ranging from subcontractor outreach to field coordination and documentation.

Pay is $22–$24 per hour. Ideal candidates are enrolled in Engineering, Construction, Architecture or Business programs, with knowledge of Blue Beam, Revit and Procore and strong

• Candidates must be enrolled in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Business or related majors.
• Knowledge of construction tech such as Blue Beam, Revit and Procore is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Experience with spreadsheets, word processing and scheduling tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Maintain material logs and project reports.
• Draft correspondence and review shop drawings and submittals.
• Track change orders and RFIs.
• Collect, verify and distribute as-builts.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Assist with closeout documentation.

Position Overview

F.H. Paschen has created a robust Internship Program that provides students pursuing construction, or other curriculums within the built environment, with the opportunity to gain knowledge, work experience and an advantage over their peers at graduation. The Construction Intern is primarily a summer position to work with a project team and gain experience, in preparation for a career in Construction Project Management. The intern’s placement can range from pre-construction through project closeout. Responsibilities may include, but won’t be limited to, subcontractor solicitation, quantity takeoffs, project documentation and field coordination and supervision.

Pay: $22 - $24/hr.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Quantity takeoffs
• Material logs

• Correspondence
• Review and determine suitability of shop drawings and submittals
• Track status of change orders
• Track status of Requests for Information
• Collect, verify, and distribute as-builts
• Blueprint reading
• Close Out Documentation
