AECOM Hunt in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Construction Intern to join our Summer 2027 program. This paid internship offers hands-on exposure to engineering, design, and construction management within a global infrastructure firm.

You will perform varied assignments, follow instructions from senior staff, and help meet project schedules while gaining a broad learning experience in CM and related disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in CM or civil engineering.
  • Must have completed at least 1 year of study toward degree.
  • Recent grads pursuing further study are eligible to apply.

Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
  • Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.
  • Meets required schedules while producing quality work.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering and/or similar discipline and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working for a general contractor.
  • Exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook), as well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future.
  • This position may be offer relocation assistance.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite to enable access to secure portions of the facility for which you are being hired to perform services, you may be required to pass the client's security screening process, which will include, but may not be limited to, Homeland Security background check and fingerprinting. Should this be required it will be done after you have commenced employment, and your participation in that process and a pass rating by the client are both conditions of your continued employment by AECOM.
