The City of Vancouver is seeking a Limited Term Construction Inspector responsible for overseeing construction projects in the community. This role includes conducting on-site inspections, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications, and acting as a liaison among various stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of relevant experience, an associate’s degree in engineering or a related field, and strong skills in civil engineering principles. This full-time position requires a valid driver’s license and offers a competitive salary range.
Salary Range: $6,845.00 – $8,750.00

We are currently recruiting for a Limited term Construction Inspector. The primary responsibilities are to perform on‑site inspection for privately funded development construction projects and city‑funded capital construction projects involving transportation, pavement management, facilities, buildings, vertical structures, traffic signals, water, sewer, and stormwater utility improvements. Lead and provide complex administrative and technical engineering support to layout, design, constructability, and cost estimating. Ensure that investments in infrastructure comply with project plans, specifications, city standards, and applicable permits. Work on projects with low cost and complexity, with high levels of influence on potential financial and schedule impacts exceeding $100,000 per year. This is a full‑time, limited‑term, non‑exempt union position covered under the agreement between the City and the OPEIU union. The schedule is Monday‑Friday, 7:30 AM‑4:30 PM, for approximately 3years.
