Construction inspectors will be hired on a full time or seasonal basis in our Rochester office based on level of experience and workload.

What You Will Do

• Performing field observation/inspection.
• Material sampling and testing.
• Verify compliance with the plans and specifications.
• Prepare pay estimates, and produce project documentation for private, municipal, county, MnDOT, and federal projects.
• Documentation will include daily diaries, quantity calculations and backup documentation, letters, memos, and spreadsheets.
• You may also help with surveying, proposals, project budgets and schedules and may be involved in design-build, pavement management, or a variety of other technical related activities.
• Applicant must be willing to travel and perform assigned duties outside of the immediate Rochester area.

What You Will Bring

• Municipal, heavy civil roadway and bridge construction inspection who want to better themselves and want to be challenged.
• 1+ years of construction inspection or related experience is required, 5+ years of experience preferred. (e.g., MnDOT Aggregate Production Tester, Concrete Field Tester, Concrete Field Inspector, Grading and Base Tester, Grading and Base Inspector, Bituminous Plant Tester, Bituminous Street Inspector, etc.).
• Excellent technical, communication, organizational skills.
• Material testing experience as well as current MnDOT technical certifications are preferred. Qualified candidates should send a copy of your current DOT certification card when applying.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
• A two-year technical degree from an accredited school, or a degree from a four‑year accredited college in a field related to civil engineering construction is a plus and will only increase your opportunities and growth.
• Conducts visual assessments of task quality and job site safety.
• Positions selfto access tools and materials in various locations.
• Ascends/descends into job site areas to complete inspections and data collection.
• May remain in stationary position for extended periods.:
• Primarily field-based role must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Full‑time position with standard business hours; occasional night work or overtime may be required based on project deadlines.
• Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.
• Reliable transportation required and the ability to travel daily within assigned territory.
• Operatestools requiring fine motor skills.
• Moves materials weighing up to 75 pounds periodically.
• Traversesconstruction sites having uneven terrain, slopes, confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
• Conducts visual assessments of task quality and job site safety.
• Positions selfto access tools and materials in various locations.
• Ascends/descends into job site areas to complete inspections and data collection.
• May remain in stationary position for extended periods.:
• Primarily field-based role must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
