Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. is seeking a field inspector to verify contractor work against contract plans, RFIs, submittals and approved changes.

The role supports large public works projects in Fort Worth and coordinates with the Owner and Engineer while assisting with pre-construction activities. You will prepare daily reports, witness tests, help with pay applications, and maintain up-to-date as-built drawings.

Qualifications

• Expertise and knowledge of all CSI divisions.
• Proficiency with reading, understanding and correlating plans and specifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Prior experience with large, capital improvement, public works projects involving coordination between multi-disciplined contractors.
• 10 hour OSHA safety course preferred.
• First aid & CPR training preferred.
• ICBO, or equivalent, certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Contractor's work to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals and approved changes.
• Issue non-compliance reports and follow up until deficiencies are corrected or accepted.
• Assist with pre-construction efforts including taking inspector's photos and videos.
• Coordinate with Owner, Engineer and Contractor to obtain and comply with permits.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and inspector photos.
• Monitor progress and document delays in daily reports.
• Witness field and factory tests and document results.
• Assist with reviewing pay applications and updating as-builts.
• Assist in project close-out activities.
