ATCS, Inc. is seeking Construction Inspectors at all experience levels for the Staunton, VA area. The role focuses on transportation construction inspections, daily reporting, and ensuring compliance with contract documents and safety standards.

Candidates should have experience with road/bridge projects, OSHA rules, basic math, and the ability to obtain required VDOT certifications within 12 months. The team emphasizes career growth from Trainee to Senior Inspector.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years for Inspection Trainee candidates
• 3-6 years of experience for Inspector candidates
• 6+ years of experience for Senior Inspector candidates
• Knowledgeable in VDOT Road and Bridges specifications and standards
• OSHA safety requirements on road and bridge construction sites
• Knowledge of mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry)
• Possession of or ability to obtain required certifications within 12 months of employment

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projects
• Write daily progress reports
• Oversee contractor work to ensure compliance with contract documents and safe construction practices
• Perform field tests on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA)
• Complete documentation of materials, labor compliance, safety, processing estimates, work orders, and adjustments
• Report on-site activities and daily progress to the Project Engineer and determine pay quantities

Construction Inspector (All levels - Staunton District)

ATCS's Construction Services group is expanding in Virginia! We are looking for individuals with VA construction management and inspection experience that have or are able to obtain necessary VDOT certifications.

We're open to candidates with varying levels of experience - Inspectors, Trainees, Senior Inspectors to join our team in the Staunton, VA area!

Duties:

• Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projects


• Write daily progress reports


• Oversight of contractor work crews to ensure compliance with contract documents, reading and interpretation of contract documents to verify that safe construction practices are being utilized to produce quality results


• Perform field test on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA)


• Complete documentation of materials, labor compliance, safety, processing estimates, work orders, and adjustments


• Report on-site activities and daily progress to the Project Engineer via standardized reporting, responsible for calculation and determination of pay quantities

Requirements:

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $17.00 to $41.97 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for overtime and an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
