AVCON, INC. in Naples, FL is seeking a Construction Inspector, Airfield to inspect construction methods per drawings and specs, monitor field activities, and compile reports.
The role requires 3+ years in airport or roadway construction inspections, ability to read airfield plans, and proficiency in MS Office and Procore. Willingness to work day/night shifts and outdoors is required.
The primary responsibilities of the Construction Inspector, Airfield are to inspect and review small to large construction methods in accordance with applicable codes and standards included in the project drawings and specifications and to provide general inspections on construction labor and subcontractor work to assure a good and cooperative operation. This position will assist primarily in the Southwest Florida region.
There are no managerial responsibilities associated with this position.
Work usually takes place in an outdoor setting subject to inclement weather conditions, loud noises, hot and cold temperatures, dust, or fumes. This position may entail out of town assignments for work over extended durations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
As dictated by client site protocol, candidate will be required to utilize proper personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves, sleeves, leather protectors, hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses and shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, covers, helmets/hoods, and any additional tools required for the task at hand.
