Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Construction Inspector to support transportation and infrastructure projects across Indiana. The role focuses on daily inspections of roadway, bridge, utility, and site development work, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and public agencies to ensure quality construction and adherence to project specs.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience performing construction inspection on roadway, bridge, utility, or transportation projects.
• Familiarity with INDOT standards, specifications, and construction practices preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction documentation software.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily construction inspections on transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Review construction materials, workmanship, and installation procedures.
• Document project progress through detailed field reports, daily diaries, and photographic records.
• Conduct measurements and quantity calculations for pay estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, utility companies, and agency representatives.
• Identify construction issues and communicate recommendations for resolution.
• Verify compliance with safety requirements and traffic control standards.
• Assist with project closeout documentation and final inspections.
