Job summary

Jobtailor in Franklin, TN is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform field surveying, layout, and inspections on active projects. You will assist with geotechnical field exploration and support the Senior Inspector under supervision of the Project Administrator.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of inspection experience, a high school diploma, and clear English communication. TDOT experience and certifications are preferred; sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience.
• TDOT experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain multiple TDOT/AASHTO certifications within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work and ensure compliance with plans and specs.

Job description

• Perform technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout
• Make and check engineering computations
• Inspect construction work
• Conduct field tests
• Assist with geotechnical field exploration activities
• Assist the Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
• Be directly responsible for inspection requirements related to assigned construction operations

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of construction inspection experience
• TDOT Experience preferred
• Site Manager or AASHTOWare experience preferred
• Possess the following certifications or the ability to obtain within six (6) months from the date of hire: TDEC Level 1 EPSC; TDOT HMA Certified Roadway Inspector; TDOT Asphalt Plant Technician; TDOT Concrete Field Technician or ACI Grade 1 Concrete Technician; TDOT Radiation Safety and Nuclear Gauge; TDOT Soils and Aggregates; Work Zone Traffic Control/Flagging; TDOT Intermediate MOT; 10 Hour OSHA Safety Training
