Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Construction Inspectors in Buffalo, NY to perform field inspection on bridge and highway projects. You will document work, measure quantities, and ensure compliance with NYSDOT specifications while coordinating with clients, contractors, and agencies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid US driver's license, and prior inspection experience; NICET II or civil engineering degree equivalents are preferred. This is a full-time field position.

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking Construction Inspectors to join our growing Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Buffalo, NY!

In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative, field-focused group supporting transportation, bridge, utility, and municipal construction projects across the region. Our team partners closely with clients, contractors, and local agencies to solve challenges in real time, uphold quality and safety standards, and help bring important public infrastructure improvements from plan to completion.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
• Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection.
• Ensures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications.
• Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisions.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
• Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Prior construction engineering/inspection experience is a plus.
• NICET II certification, associate degree in engineering technology and/or bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred.
• Valid US driver's license required.
• Prior experience with federally aided transportation projects as a construction inspector preferred.
• Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or municipal clients; technical knowledge of general and highway construction preferred.
• High attention to detail and team player.
• Strong mathematics skills.
• Appia and/or CEES experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NYSDOT's Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK) preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $29.00 to $38.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
