Job summary

Our client in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Inspector to support a large healthcare construction project. The role focuses on on-site inspection of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, and codes.

Responsibilities include field inspections, documenting findings, coordinating with contractors and engineers, and supporting testing and commissioning through project closeout.

Qualifications

• Hospital or healthcare construction experience required.
• 10 years of hands on knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Ability to identify deficiencies and communicate corrective requirements clearly.
• Experience inspecting complex commercial or institutional construction projects.

• Inspect HVAC, plumbing, piping, electrical, and related building systems.

• Monitor corrective work and verify deficiencies are resolved.
• Support testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate inspection reports and field documentation.
• Ensure construction complies with codes, specifications, quality standards, and safety.

MEP Construction Inspector Role

The MEP Construction Inspector will provide onsite inspection and quality oversight across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes for a major healthcare construction project.

• Perform field inspections across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction
• Inspect HVAC, plumbing, piping, electrical, and related building systems
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to verify work is being completed according to design
• Monitor installation quality and identify deficiencies or noncompliant work
• Document inspection findings and communicate issues to appropriate project stakeholders
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project management, and other members of the construction team
• Monitor corrective work and verify deficiencies have been properly resolved
