Job summary

Horrocks in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform contract item inspections and ensure compliance with plans and specifications across all phases of transportation projects. You will work with the Construction Management team to support project quality and safety.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of construction inspection experience, can travel overnight, and can navigate Site Manager/AASHTOWare.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in Construction Inspection.
• Basic computer skills including spreadsheets and word processing.
• Certified in NMDOT TTCP.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Clean driving record.
• Overnight travel required.
• Experience in transportation-related construction projects.
• Dependable and hardworking.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction inspection on NMDOT projects and monitor contract work for compliance with plans, specifications and contract documents.
• Establish and maintain documentation and report requirements based on construction plans and specifications.
• Interpret plans, specifications and contract documents to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with the contractor and the project management to identify and resolve inspection issues.
• Ensure inspection compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Enter daily work reports using Site Manager or AASHTOWare.
• Document payments in Site Manager and electronic source books.
• Field Materials testing using nuclear density gauge, if needed.
• Concrete testing, if needed.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 / hour

What are the core responsibilities for the role?

• Conduct construction inspection on NMDOT projects and monitor contract work for compliance with plans, specifications and contract documents.
