Our client is a trusted and growing concrete-cutting and selective-demolition contractor serving commercial and industrial clients throughout the Raleigh-Durham region and surrounding areas. Known for their commitment to safety, integrity, and quality workmanship, they offer a wide range of services including flat sawing, wall and wire sawing, core drilling, hand-sawing, selective demolition, and concrete removal and repair.
Responsibilities
- Jobsite support and assist Operators in setting up and transporting equipment to/from jobsites
- Assist in preparing jobsites by unloading tools and staging equipment
- Assist in handling debris, slurry, and material removal from work areas
- Equipment and vehicle care: transport equipment daily between the yard and job sites
- Assist in cleaning tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure readiness for the next job
- Assist Operators in basic preventive maintenance tasks and inspections
- Report equipment issues promptly to Operators or the shop mechanic using Tyfoom forms
- Manage personal expendables usage
- Safety & Compliance: comply with company safety procedures and OSHA regulations, wear required PPE, set up barricades and signage, and assist with safety controls on jobsites
- Participate in Job Hazard Analysis with the operator on each job after it is reviewed with the site contact
- Review safety plan with the operator to assess the need for respirator use when tasks require respirators
- Assess safety risks with the operator when working in extreme environments and take appropriate breaks
- Use tools and equipment when possible to minimize physical exertion and risk of injury
- Report near misses
- Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe and professional manner at all times
- Learn the safe use of equipment, including body positioning and guarding on tools
- Administration & Communication: support Operators in completing job-related paperwork and turn receipts in promptly
- Communicate respectfully with team members, clients, and supervisors
- Report progress, challenges, and delays to the Operator or Field Manager
- Professional Development: participate in on-the-job training to learn tool operation and industry practices, develop proficiency in basic concrete sawing, drilling, and demolition tasks, and show initiative to advance toward an Operator role within 1–2 years
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous construction or labor experience helpful but not required
- Strong physical stamina
- Willing to work in weather conditions that may be adverse (hot/cold/rain)
- Good driving record with current license
