Job summary

Therma, a Legence company, is seeking a Safety Officer to support Boise-area field teams on diverse construction projects. This field-based role requires hands-on safety leadership, site inspections, and strong collaboration with project leadership to maintain compliance and promote a proactive safety culture.

The Safety Officer will travel to multiple Boise project sites, identify hazards, document results, and assist with trainings and orientations for field staff.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of construction safety experience or closely related field experience.
• Ability to recognize onsite hazards and risk factors and confidently take appropriate action.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with project and field teams.
• Ability to regularly work in an active construction environment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., walk four to six flights of stairs, and walk continuously for up to 60 minutes.
• Ability to travel between project sites throughout the Boise market.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections to identify and document hazards, deficiencies, and leading and lagging safety indicators.
• Recognize onsite risk factors and take appropriate stop-work action when necessary.
• Assist with accident and incident investigations and maintain supporting documentation.
• Partner with project management to conduct safety orientations and support the onboarding of field employees.
• Help reinforce safe work practices and promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture across project teams.
• Post, maintain, and update required safety documentation, notices, and literature at project sites.
• Prepare and maintain safety reports, presentations, spreadsheets, memos, and other documentation.
• Track and organize safety-related information and project documentation using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Provide field and administrative support to safety and project leadership.
• Communicate safety concerns and observations clearly and professionally with field employees and project management.
• Travel between Therma project sites throughout the Boise area as business needs require.
• Support additional safety initiatives and responsibilities as assigned
