E.S. Wagner Company is seeking an Intern/Co-Op to join its team in Defiance, OH for the spring semester.

The role offers exposure to Field Engineering/Management or Estimating/Office Engineering within a heavy civil and highway construction environment. As an undergraduate student, you will gain real world experience supporting project layouts, daily site reports, bid development, and scheduling activities while working with field managers, subcontractors, and owners.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student at a college or university offering degree programs.
• Intense interest and passion for the Construction Industry and a desire to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrate leadership and Interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft office suite programs.

Responsibilities

• Field Engineering / Management: assist with project layout, submittals, scheduling, and other management tasks; complete site inspections and daily reports; interact with field management, subcontractors, and owners to learn safety, quality, costs, and scope of work; help meet critical milestones.
• Estimating / Office Engineering: partner with the bid team to develop cost estimates; use software for quantity takeoffs; participate in scheduling, site visits, and time studies; assist in preparing subcontracts and purchase orders, gather quantity data for progress reports and measure costs vs budget.
