Job summary

Gorman General Contractors, LLC is seeking a Construction Estimator to develop budgets for multifamily projects from concept through GMP, collaborating with Development, Architecture, and Construction teams in-office. You’ll perform quantity takeoffs, gather subcontractor pricing, maintain budget docs, and drive value engineering while coordinating bidding and outreach to ensure competitive bids.

Qualifications

3+ years of construction estimating experience with a general contractor.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and CSI MasterFormat.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

Responsibilities

Develop project budgets from concept through GMP with detailed estimates at design milestones.
Perform quantity takeoffs across CSI divisions and analyze drawings and specs.
Gather subcontractor and supplier pricing, identify risks and scope gaps.
Maintain budget reports, contingencies, and pricing docs during design.
Coordinate bidding, bid packages, and Section 3/MBE/WBE outreach.
Prepare estimates and docs for handoff, buyout, and construction.
