Job summary

Scott's Fencing Co., Inc. in Albuquerque seeks a Construction Estimator to develop accurate project estimates, review plans, and move awarded projects from estimating to completion.

You will work with customers, vendors, and field teams to price projects, communicate clearly, and ensure on-time delivery. The ideal candidate has estimating experience, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects with ownership.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating or closely related field.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience performing material takeoffs.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based estimating.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Professional communication with customers.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple active projects.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Complete material and labor takeoffs and identify project requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids using Excel-based pricing tools.
• Review project costs and pricing to maintain margins.
• Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements and scope.
• Coordinate with field and production leadership after award.
• Help establish project schedules and monitor progress through completion.
• Prepare project information and turnover materials for the field team.
• Review changes in scope and assist with change order pricing and documentation.
• Track project costs, invoicing, and payments through closeout.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, pricing, and completed projects.
• Manage multiple estimates and active projects with follow-through.
