Job summary

Environmental Management Inc. is seeking a Construction Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial construction and landscape development projects in Central Ohio.

You will analyze plans, specs, labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing to produce comprehensive bids. The ideal candidate has strong analytical abilities, keen attention to detail, and solid organizational and communication skills to collaborate with clients, vendors, and project teams throughout

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, landscape construction, civil construction, or related field.
• Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, STACK, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, contract documents, and project requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for site development, earthwork, hardscape, concrete, irrigation, planting, erosion control, and related scopes.
• Develop complete bid proposals including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, permits, and contingencies.
• Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotations.
• Maintain organized estimating files, project records, and bid documentation.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving recommendations during bidding.
