Job summary

Trillium Construction Services is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator in Wilmington, NC with 3+ years of estimating commercial and federal projects. The role involves takeoffs, bid analysis, and developing scopes of work, with a mix of in-office and remote work.

The ideal candidate will manage subcontractor pricing, maintain bid lists, review drawings, and coordinate with Architects and Construction Managers to ensure competitive, accurate bids.

Qualifications

• Experience with takeoffs & bid analysis

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals
• Develop scopes of work and solicit pricing from subs
• Build and maintain qualified subcontractor bid lists
• Review drawings, specs, addenda, and bid requirements
• Analyze bids for gaps, risks, and exclusions
• Develop RFIs and bid clarifications
• Incorporate value-engineering opportunities
• Conduct bid-day analysis and ensure adequate trade coverage
• Follow up on bids and budgets with Architects and Construction Managers
• Assist with project buyout and turnover to PM
• Review awarded project costs and coordinate awards
• Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings

Location: Wilmington, NC

Salary: $80,000--$100,000

Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Remote Considered | Ideally 80% In-Office / 20% WFH

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator for our client in Wilmington, NC . The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience estimating U.S.-based commercial and/or federal construction projects and experience with takeoffs, subcontractor bidding, scope development, and bid analysis.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial and/or federal construction estimating experience required
• 5+ years preferred in commercial, institutional, or military construction
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with RSMeans and/or e4Clicks preferred
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and bid requirements
• Experience performing detailed takeoffs
• Strong subcontractor and vendor relationships preferred
