Job summary

CRH's Idaho Materials & Construction unit is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate loaders, backhoes, haul trucks, water trucks and other equipment across job sites. This role supports road and utility projects, maintaining safe work zones and following company safety standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience. Depending on assignments, you may perform minor maintenance and document time and materials for projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain safe slopes on excavations and barricading.
• Locate utilities and buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
• Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
• Travel between job sites; assist Laborer with pipe laying and road/utility tasks as needed.
