Job summary

Siegmund Excavation & Construction, Stayton, OR, is seeking a Construction Equipment Operator to safely perform a variety of on-site tasks supporting highway and utility crews. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and reliable equipment operation.

You will operate equipment within designed parameters, assist with plant operations, and coordinate with paving crews to address material issues. A valid driver's license and basic math, reading, and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous construction experience is a plus.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.
• Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Keep machines clean and maintained.
• Keep time and material records.
• Travel to and from various locations.
• Assist labor crew including shoveling of materials and daily plant operations.
• Promptly communicate with paving crew on any flaws in material.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Regular and timely attendance.
