Job summary

Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc. is seeking a Construction Equipment Field Technician in West Virginia to diagnose and repair earth-moving heavy equipment at customer sites.

The successful candidate will have 4–5 years of hands-on experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication to ensure customer satisfaction. The role requires working in industrial environments with exposure to noise, heat, and physical demands.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and independently repair earth-moving heavy construction equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventative maintenance and on-site service repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics to determine root causes.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and document all work performed.
• Operate with safety, adhere to DOT and company requirements.

Job description

Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat® dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for a Construction Equipment Field Technician.

Position Summary

The successful applicant must have 4-5 years of experience in repairing and maintaining all types of earth-moving heavy construction equipment. The successful candidate must also have good human relations skills and abilities as well as the personality to successfully communicate and problem solve with customers. Customer satisfaction is of primary concern. The essential functions of this position include the ability to independently and successfully diagnose and repair equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Previous experience repairing earth-moving heavy construction equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engines
• Knowledge of hydraulics
• Knowledge of electronics
• Intermediate computer skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Requirements

As a Field Mechanic you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions. Physical requirements include:

• Overall stamina
• Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
• Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, listening, and speaking
• Must have good motor coordination skills
• Coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
• Verbal intelligence, and numerical intelligence
• The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold
• Injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must meet DOT regulatory & CBE requirements for operating CBE or related vehicles
• Must sign all documentation to meet DOT regulations and CBE requirements
