What Your Day Will Look Like

As a construction engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring on‑site construction activities and inspecting materials to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Your duties will include evaluating work related to excavations, drainage systems, road surfaces, and structural components; performing field measurements and calculations; preparing detailed inspection reports; and tracking contractor production rates. You will coordinate inspection phases with the contractor’s superintendent and agency personnel, and support project procedures—particularly in developing documentation for the final estimate package. This role reports to both the Project Manager and Project Administrator and plays a critical part in maintaining construction quality, accuracy, and adherence to technical standards.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $110,000. All hours worked beyond 40 hours per week are compensated at time and a half. May be eligible to drive a Consor take‑home truck, which includes a maintenance package and fuel card.

Employees may qualify for per diem when the project location is more than 50 miles from their "tax home".
