Job summary

H+M Industrial EPC in Pasadena, TX seeks a Construction Project Manager to oversee contractors during execution, coordinating engineering, procurement, and construction activities to meet schedule and budget.

  • Reviews equipment, facilities, systems and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develops PEP, DBM, JDB, FEP, SOW, and Split Matrix.

Job description

Purpose

Responsible for the management of construction contractors performing work during the execute phase of projects. Support construction activities in accordance with customer specifications and H&M requirements within schedule and budget limitations, coordinating activities of the engineering team, contractors, and vendors.

Work Schedule

Must have open availability any time and day of the week. Normal work period is Monday-Friday dayshift.

  • Directs development of an action plan and estimates requirements for resources management, labor, materials and time required to complete the project.
  • Support construction activities and interface between engineering and construction teams.
  • Assesses vendors for competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status.
  • Monitors progress of the project and compares actual costs with estimates.
  • Works with design groups to modify plans as appropriate if problems arise.
  • Coordinates the activities of the design and construction teams.
  • Manages project issues, budgets, and schedules.
  • Prepares monthly reports, detailing progress and costs for top management.
  • Reviews and studies existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Develop PEP (Project Execution Plan), DBM (Design Basis Memorandum), JDB (Job Data Book), FEP (Field Erection Plan), SOW (Scope of work), and Split Matrix.
  • Works with client to resolve problems.
  • Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
  • Minimum 3 years of field construction experience on downstream and/or mid-stream industrial projects.
