Job summary

BW Design Group in Pasadena leads and delivers large-scale AEC construction initiatives with a focus on client outcomes. As Director of Construction, you will guide capital projects from concept through closeout, partnering with industry experts to deliver design-build and EPC solutions for manufacturing and related sectors.

You will mentor teams, drive budget discipline, risk management, and proposal development while upholding safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Steer your team from initial client meetings to final closeouts for our clients within the food, beverage, life science, home, and personal care markets
• Ensure that each project reflects unwavering commitment to client satisfaction, budget adherence, timing precision, quality standards, and safety norms
• Leverage the full potential of our team, fostering growth and professional excellence
• Effectively utilize the team's capacity and focus on team member development
• Collaborate with industry and project delivery experts who have experience converting our clients' capital spending into commercialized solutions
• Partner with leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to develop design-build and EPC projects
• Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team
• Guide projects from conception to fruition, ensuring alignment with client and organizational objectives
• Lead risk assessment, contract negotiations, and critical fee and pricing decisions
• Serve as the primary point of contact for market leaders, ensuring excellence in project performance
• Identify new opportunities and actively participate in the development of proposals that accurately and concisely define scopes of work and achieve client objectives
• Manage budget and financial aspects, ensuring fiscal responsibility throughout the project life cycle
• Assume responsibility for construction & design/build initiatives with key responsibilities in estimating and proposal crafting
• Ensure that estimate, design, schedule sequencing, and proposal stages meet client expectations in terms of budget, aesthetics, scope, and schedule
• Communicate project goals and requirements effectively and lead your team to success
• Cultivate the talents of your team, guiding them towards achieving personal and professional milestones
• Lead by example and foster unity of and collaboration with project team
• Step into every role on the project, as needed, to maintain team effectiveness and morale
