Job summary

Architectural Fabrication, Inc. is seeking a Designer (3D CAD) to create design models and detailed drawings for clients, fabrication, and construction in Fort Worth, TX.

You will manage design responsibilities throughout project timelines and ensure accuracy and timeliness. The role requires 2 years of 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred) and 1 year of post-secondary education in CAD, with strong drafting principles and multi-project management.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience with 3D CAD involving custom models and fabrication drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
• One year of 3D CAD post-secondary education (SolidWorks preferred).
• Knowledge of advanced drafting principles and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to focus for extended periods.
• Ability to visit fabrication shop as needed wearing proper PPE.
• Preferred: CSWA/CSWP Certification and knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Salesforce, or DriveWorks.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed submittal and fabrication drawings of products using SolidWorks models.
• Create bills of material (BOM).
• Manage design responsibilities through the project timeline.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
• Work with the engineering department and consult with construction/fabrication on drawings.
• Assist design team members and perform related duties.

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to create design models and documents for clients, fabrication, and construction. You will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and managing design responsibilities throughout the project timeline to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating detailed submittal and fabrication drawings of products using parts and assemblies modeled in SolidWorks.
• Creating bills of material (BOM).
• Managing the design responsibilities through the entirety of a project timeline.
• Working closely with project managers to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
• Collaborating with the engineering department.
• Consulting with construction and fabrication departments about drawings.
• Assisting design team members on projects as needed and performing other related duties.
