Job summary

IWS Group in New Jersey is seeking a Demolition & Restoration Services Worker to assist with safe demolition, cleanup, and restoration of properties damaged by water, fire, storms or mold. This hands-on role requires physical stamina and teamwork to keep projects moving on schedule.

This standby/on-call position does not guarantee hours; start times vary and assignments come as needed, typically around early morning. You will operate hand and power tools and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience with demolition or restoration work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Able to use hand tools and power tools safely.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
• OSHA certification is a plus but not required.
• Must be comfortable with standby/on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform selective and structural demolition using hand and power tools.
• Remove debris and dispose of materials safely.

• Assist with basic repairs, including drywall, painting, flooring, and finish work.
• Operate demolition and restoration equipment safely.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.

A Demolition & Restoration Services Worker is responsible for assisting with the safe demolition, cleanup, and restoration of residential, commercial, and industrial properties. This role involves removing damaged materials, preparing job sites for reconstruction, and supporting restoration efforts following water, fire, storm, or mold damage.

Important: This is a standby/on-call position. Hours are not guaranteed and workers will be contacted when assignments or additional coverage are needed. The position typically starts around 7:00 AM, although start times may vary depending on the job assignment and project needs. Candidates must be comfortable with a flexible, standby schedule.
