Position Overview

The Financial Analyst will support project management, business operations, accounting, finance, regulatory compliance, and reporting functions.

This role requires skills in executing processes and utilizing reporting software to create visual presentations from data for executive leaders, leveraging strong Excel skills to analyze raw datasets.

The position involves collaborating with project and district management, providing insights into project health, evaluating construction job costs, data reporting/analysis, budgeting/forecasting, revenue recognition, and report generation for leadership.

Proficiency with AI tools is a plus, enhancing data analysis and reporting capabilities through predictive analytics, machine learning, and natural language processing.

District Overview

Kiewit's South-Central District specializes in heavy civil and transportation markets, focusing on infrastructure passionate individuals committed to construction.

Location

Projects are mainly in the south-central US, with opportunities nationwide. The role may require relocation between projects.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain databases and reports by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
  • Manage accounts payable at the project level.
  • Develop compliance plans with regulations.
  • Analyze data to recommend actions, study variances, and develop KPIs.
  • Prepare and review progress reports, forecasts, and summaries.
  • Coordinate with project teams to assess reporting and risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement and adapt to project needs.
  • Build relationships with operational teams and foster teamwork.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python, and related reporting tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to gather data and create reports.
  • Attention to detail to identify discrepancies.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passion for improvement.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data, Business, or Financial Analyst.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
