The Construction Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from initiation through completion. This role works closely with contractors, suppliers, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate construction projects and scheduling activities.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Manage project budgets, costs, and expenses.
- Provide regular project status updates to management.
- Conduct job walks and field inspections.
- Interpret P&IDs and perform material take-offs.
- Estimate field construction activities, including manpower requirements.
- Manage and coordinate welding activities.
- Coordinate and oversee critical lifts and crane operations.
- Review and interpret project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prioritize work activities and provide daily progress updates.
- Lead field execution efforts while maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.
- Interface with upper management and present project updates when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in construction coordination, field project management, or construction supervision.
- Experience managing critical lifts and crane activities.
- Knowledge of welding procedures and construction welding oversight.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, perform job walks, and complete material take-offs.
- Experience estimating field construction activities and manpower requirements.
- Working knowledge of construction scheduling, including Primavera P6.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Additional Requirements
- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to lead safe work practices in the field.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout North America in support of projects and turnarounds.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport for travel to Canada.
- Candidates should be local to the Houston/Pasadena area.
- Must currently possess a valid TWIC card.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and site-specific screening requirements.
- Must complete all required site-specific training and credentialing necessary for facility access.
