NRP Group is seeking a Construction Associate to support the Project Superintendent with the day-to-day duties on a multifamily construction site in Raleigh. You will learn all facets of construction from planning to completion and assist in document control, scheduling, and field reporting.

The role emphasizes learning the submittal process, RFIs, change orders, and close-out documentation while coordinating with field staff to ensure compliance and timely delivery of project milestones.

Qualifications

• Requires basic ability to read and understand blueprints.
• OSHA 10 certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Create submittal schedule and track submittals against plans and specs.
• Assist in submittal process tracking and documentation maintenance.
• Maintain daily/weekly/monthly construction logs and weekly/status reports.
• Support RFI, change orders, and shop drawings processes; ensure timely filing.
• Assist with project close-out documentation and logs; coordinate with QC and safety teams.

This position interacts with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, involving multiple facets of construction from conception to completion of a project.* Will work with the Project Superintendent on proper document control at the project site office for all phases of the construction project.* Will assist in document support and work alongside field staff in all aspects of project administration.* Learn about all aspects of multifamily construction. **Essential Functions:** Schedule – Learn and assist the field employees with the following: - Creation of the submittal schedule, track schedule and perform timely review of submittals. Cross reference submittals to plans and specifications. - Assist in tracking of submittal process. - Assist in maintenance and updating of schedule processes and documentation. Quality – Learn and assist the field employees with the following: - Learn about effective and efficient document control including daily/weekly/monthly construction job logs and monthly construction status reports. - Work with the Project Superintendent to understand the need for an effective and efficient Request for Information (RFI)/change orders/shop drawings process is in place and all documentation is completed, filed and controlled in a timely manner. May work on aspects of this to assist in completion. - Learn process of maintaining hard files, electronic files and documentation, create and manage daily reports, photographs, update weekly reports - weather log, hot list, lessons learned, etc. May work on aspects of this to assist in completion. - Learn about managing the private consultant reports and answering to each consultant’s list of deficiencies and closing all open loops. May work on aspects of this to assist in completion. - Learn about updating and maintaining the QC (quality control) log. Coordinate all QC items and log updates with QC manager. May work on aspects of this to assist in completion. Safety – Learn and assist the field employees with the following: - Learn about and assist the Safety department to maintain a safe and respectful working environment at all times by implementing safety (OSHA) and risk management standards. - May assist with tracking and documenting all inspections and re-inspections (as required) to include City and Third Party (soil density/compaction, accessibility, waterproofing, structural, MEP, TDHCA) inspections; maintain the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). - Helps oversee safety and risk management at the job site. Budget – Learn and assist the field employees with the following: - Helps oversee that project site and company assets are always secure. - Learn the process of the set up and processing of sub-contractor draws, payroll, materials, supplies, etc. and work with Project Superintendent to ensure proper materials inventory. Management – Learn and assist the field employees with the following: - Learn about plan revisions on PlanGrid or other document management software. - Learn about submittals, RFIs, owner change requests, owner change orders, etc. and all associated logs. May work on aspects of this to assist in completion. - Learn about consultant’s inspection reports (including deficiency logs and response to inspection reports), close-out records, etc. May work on aspects of this to assist in completion. - Assist with distribution all daily reports/logs, weekly reports/logs and monthly reports/logs. - Review of emails and Outlook folders, common drive/portal files, hard copy files, etc. - Learn about the management of company purchased materials. - Compilation and storage specific files during the project for the Project Close-out. - Assist to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions. - Maintenance of subcontractor and staff meeting minutes. - Creation, updating and maintenance of a variety of project controls that track the status of individual projects or task orders, changes to projects. - In preparation for project completion, collect warranty material, create close-out documents to ensure an effective and efficient transition for project construction completion and close-out. - Perform any relevant duties as assigned by the Project Superintendent or Project Manager. **SKILLS & ABILITIES** Education: - Preferred High School diploma or GED - OSHA 10 Certificate within 6 months of being hired Experience: Technical Skills: - Basic knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints Driver’s License Required: reliable transportation
