Job description

National Affordable Housing Trust (NAHT) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the creation and preservation of quality affordable housing throughout the United States. NAHT provides equity, through syndication to third party investors, for affordable housing real estate transactions that utilize Low Income Housing Tax Credits as a form of financing.

NAHT is seeking an experienced individual for a full time Construction Asset Manager position based in Columbus, Ohio. Responsibilities include:

  • Playing a lead role in the development and implementation of construction procedures and the management of construction vendors;
  • Managing a portfolio of projects under construction, overseeing and reporting on construction progress and issues and reviewing/approving related equity draws; and
  • Providing construction advice and expertise during due diligence related to investment transactions.
Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate or related field; have a minimum of 5 years previous experience in construction, construction lending and/or real estate development; possess strong knowledge of construction processes, materials and methods including new construction, rehabilitation and historic preservation; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong consensus building skills, a strong ability to multi-task on multiple projects with critical deadlines and to provide accurate information to internal and external parties; easily adapts to change while working independently and as a member of a team.
