Position Function:
In the Department of Facilities Management, the Construction Administrator for Work Management provides oversight of project scopes, budgets, contracts, designs, bids, construction compliance with codes and contracts, and day‑to‑day operational and tactical aspects associated with projects involving renovations, alterations and/or in‑house projects.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Substitutions: When a candidate has the required experience, but lacks the required education, they may normally apply additional experience toward the education requirement at a rate of one (1) year of relevant experience per year of required education. Indicated experience is required, no substitution allowed.
Physical Requirements: Occasional and/or light lifting required. Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards. Externally imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; may involve conflict‑resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis. Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Job occasionally requires sitting, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to no more than 25 pounds. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
